The Wray Mesa Uranium Project is located about 6 miles east of the LaSal Uranium District in San Juan County, southeastern Utah near the border with Colorado. The project area is within the Colorado Plateau physiographic province. The LaSal Uranium District has produced over 20 million pounds of U3O8. The LaSal Uranium District, also known as the LaSal Channel is part of the greater Uravan Mineral Belt of southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah. The Wray Mesa project area is considered the eastern part of the LaSal Channel, and is located 40 miles southeast of Moab, Utah, and 6 miles east of the community of LaSal.
The project lies south of the Pine Ridge anticline and Pine ridge collapse feature, all of which are part of the Paradox Basin. The Wray Mesa mining claims are less than 10 miles northeast of Rio Algom’s former Lisbon Mine, in the Lisbon Valley uranium district. JL Energy’s, Wray Mesa property is 40 miles by road southeast from Moab and 45 miles north from Monticello on US 191, with excellent access from the two-lane paved roads and maintained gravel roads that cross the claim group.
